no bo bono
:apartment / 60 m2
The clients expectations for this contemporary ground floor city apartment were to bring in daylight and keep things natural, but avoid creating a very bland interior. An additional concern was the flooring and its use by their pet dog Bono. After considering the functionality and aesthetics, a lightly finished oak floor was laid. Over time, the emerging scratches caused by Bono will slowly add an attractive rustic character. Darker colours are tastefully fused into the details of the interior in order to create a stimulating effect. For example, the kitchen area, while being mostly black, becomes a dominant feature that is not at the same time overpowering. The remaining apartment space is complemented with oak details and the use of the colour yellow, adding a refreshing spatial element. This balance of contrasting materials and colours achieved a cozy, contemporary, and most importantly, comfortable space for Bono, the four legged furry dweller.
