:apartment / 70 m2
A special and unique interior, which came to life in collaboration with partner design studio em11. Light and space was introduced, into what was initially a dark and enclosed city apartment, by knocking down several partition walls and creating a semi open spatial concept. This allowed taking full advantage of the east-west window orientation of the apartment with light now flooding into the living area in the afternoon from the west. A natural set of finishes, including, natural oak, bleached wooden floors and pastel colour accents create a calm and unblemished blend of eye-friendly colour. A distinct visual aesthetic of the interior is accentuated by the blue and white matte lacquered kitchen an island, which is the physical dominant informing users of the role and function of the space. Emka is an interior with soul, reflecting a passion for music, street art and the art of origami.
